provides examples of projects that we have worked on, including
our role on each project.

Hospitals

Altnagelvin
Hospitals Laboratory and Pharmacy Service Centre
A £18m
Public Private Parnership ("PPP") to design, build, finance
and maintain a Laboratory and Pharmacy Service Centre for the Altnagelvin
Hospitals Health & Social Services Trust.
Construction
was completed in January 2007 three months ahead of schedule, and
the facility is now in the operational phase. United Healthcare
was the project sponsor, an equity provider as well as being the
Bid and Consortium Project Managers. The consortium included Farrans
Construction, Integral FM Services, Ash Corporate Finance, Kennedy
FitzGerald Associates, Cundall Johnston, Mulholland & Doherty
and Northcroft.
Castle
Hill, Hull Oncology and Haematology Development
A £65m
project to design, build, finance and maintain an Oncology and Haematology
Development at the Hull Castle Hill Hospital site. This development
is essential for the future provision of services for patients with
cancer from a huge catchment area encompassing Scunthorpe and Grimsby
in the south to Scarborough in the north.
United Healthcare
were the Bid Managers for the successful Healthcare Solutions consortium,
including ABN AMRO Bank, Shepherd Construction, Haden Young, OPERON,
HLM, WYG, Hulley & Kirkwood and DL&E. Construction of the
facility was completed on schedule, and the project is now in the
operational phase.
Oxted
Hospital
A PPP project
to design, build and provide facilities management services in relation
to a Rehabilitation and Therapy Centre for the NHS; as well as a
new nursing home that is operated by Barchester Healthcare; and
affordable housing units managed by L&Q Housing Association.
United Healthcare
was a 50/50 partner with Cathedral Healthcare. We reached Financial
Close on this project in 2003 and construction was completer and
the facility became operational in 2005. Other team members include
Barchester Healthcare, PRP Architects, Castleoak Construction and
Meedhurst Project Management.
The investment
in the project was sold to Primary Health Properties in December
2006.
Bromley
Hospital
A £140m
major new hospital re-development in Bromley. The new development
is based at Farnborough in Kent and has over 500 beds and day case
facilities. It provides a full range of acute general hospital services,
bringing together hospital services previously provided from four
local sites. The many outdated second world war buildings are being
replaced with modern facilities, which will overcome many of the
problems working from split sites.
United Healthcare
were the Bid/Consortium Managers and Medical Equipping Advisers
for the United Healthcare Consortium, with Taylor Woodrow as the
main contractor. Other consortium members include Barclays Bank,
CODA Architects, ISS Healthcare, Barratt Developments, Healthcare
Environments, Waterman Partnership and Zisman Bowyer & Partners.
Construction of the facility was completed on schedule, and the
project is now in the operational phase.

Rochdale
Grouped Schools
A £56m
project to design, build, finance and provide a range of facilities
management services for Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council.
The aims of the project are to provide 21st century school facilities
for over 3,000 pupils and to break down the barriers by providing
a seamless continuum for all pupils requiring Special Educational
Needs (SEN) Schools provision in the Borough. A major feature
of the proposals is the plan to co-locate special schools with mainstream
schools (on three of the four sites).
United Healthcare were the Bid Managers for the Axiom Education
consortium that includes ABN AMRO Bank, Shepherd Construction, Haden
Young, Aedas, Bryanston Square and OPERON. Construction of
the new schools was completed on schedule, and the project is now
in the operational phase.
Queen
Elizabeth Hospital Equipment PFI
A project
to address Medical and Technical Equipment requirements for the
hospital, with a capital value of £50m and a term of 15 years.
United Healthcare
managed the bid for this major Medical Equipment PFI on behalf of
the Toshiba Agilent Healthcare Group Consortium and implemented
the Managed Equipment Service ("MES") solution.
Portsmouth
Hospitals NHS Trust
A £176m
project to redevelop the Queen Alexandra and St Mary's Hospitals
in Portsmouth.
United Healthcare
were the PFI Equipping Advisers to the Trust and have been involved
with developing output specifications, evaluating bids, inputting
to the design process, the equipment survey and finalising equipment
scope and responsibilities.
Oxford
Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust
United Healthcare
were the Medical Equipping Advisers to Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals
NHS Trust for their £87m Churchill Hospital PFI Development.
The project includes a new Geratology Triptych & Therapy Centre,
a new Oxford Cancer Centre and a new Breast Screening Unit.
